im guessing he is making a shitty bluff. u obviously got the nuuts. Id prolly raise to 20 or 60. no more u want him to call. if he actually has a hand he might think your bluffing with weak raise and he might re-raise.

Raise $40.
But I'd have folded on the turn.
edit: BTW 99 is not the nuts. That would be T8, which is the only hand you don't want to see - that and JJ (AA seems unlikely).

Well This is what happened, I typed in chat Box" I cant believe im considering 2 this laydown, this is hellmuth style laydown" Then I said to myself 55$ pot to call 20$ with trips its gotta be a Postive play in the long run, I just call his bet and he turned over 1 of the hands I pegged him on when he bet on river, he won with 6/8. I had a gut instinct he had 6/8 10/8 that explained his turn bet which I figured was a semi bluff with K/q or something on the turn.
I knew I should habe folded, I told myself if I cant raise here I should defiantly be folding 2 bad I dont listen to my instincts enough to make this laydown.
Didnt bet flop the sb had check raised me twice earlier when I was on button with a continuation bet.

According to Pokerstove, you were right - 92% of the time you would win against 2 random hands - with trips on the river.
However, the turn was the pivotal point and if you didn't think 9-9 was ahead at that point, it should have been a fold with only 2 outs to improve - trust your instincts!

Well I thought I was ahead on the turn, Prolly shoula raised but then if he reraised me its almost impossible to call his raise even if I think he is on bluff.
You dont now how bad I wanted to fold the hand on the river, Curiosity killed the cat .

I think you played this hand way too passively. You raise PF, and they just called. I know you're scared by the two overcards, but when they check to you, you've gotta use your position to pick up this pot by making a continuation bet. I'd bet it strong and know if I got called or raised, I'm likely beat and done with the hand. Same on the turn if I had checked the flop.
Take free cards when you're likely to improve or when there are scare cards and deceptive opponents have checked to you. But you're so unlikely to improve (5% each street), and your opponents have shown no strength, so you're giving the free card here, not taking it.
On the river, I feel like 6/8 is a very strong possibility, but so is two pair (AJ, A9, A7, A5, J9, J7, 57, etc.), or even a complete bluff (he's just following through on his steal attempt on the turn) so I think you have to call. But I don't think I'd raise.

Yes I played the hand badly and was lucky enough to lose the minimum possible on the river, I could have easily have lost another 60$ raising the river.
