    Default Thinking too much

Does anyone else think that sometimes thinking about the odds, outs, etc hinders their game?

only if thats all you concentrate on... math is only part of it.. the other part is instinct, reads, and simply paying attention to what is going on

You are probably just over thinking the odds. Don't get in over your head

when i first started playing i knew little about odds. once i learned the basic odds (chance to improve a hand, chance an opponent has a particular hand etc) i wondered how i ever played without knowing them. now i understand that while it is critical to know the odds, they are only a foundation upon which to base your game. as previously stated, observation is the game winner. poker is a game of incomplete information, and odds only identify what might be missing, they dont actually tell you the missing information. observation can.

For me the odds outs and other maths is just one of many things you use to help you make your decisions.

Sometimes you don't really need any of it, sometimes it can just help tip you one way or the other over a marginal decision, and sometimes it can make what normally would be a hard decision very easy.

I dont think you can think too much about odds.

Of course you have to keep it simple and give the odds the importance it should have... no more... no less...
