Are these good to play or bad? Also, what are some good strategies to playing these?

I used to play alot of these, as i found them quicker and with easier competition than 10 seater games or similar buy-ins...but when i made a spread sheet to keep track of my winnings i found i wasn't making nearly as much profit as i thought

The problem i find is the prize structure, you have to win otherwise it's not worth the time, i.e. $10+1 6 player torney will usually pay 1st $45 (75%), 2nd $15 (25%).
so coming 2nd only gets you a profit of $4, for what could be 45 minutes play.

so, unless you think you can place 1st consistantly, they're usually not worth it..
I love him who is ashamed when the dice fall in his favour and who then asks: Am I then a cheat? for he wants to perish.
