Whats the best strategy to breaking even in your opinion? I want to play some real money games for the experience(play money isn't cutting it), but don't want to hemorrhage money.
I'm thinking tight, and nothing fancy?

sitting out is cheap - low variance too
See me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money

It is gambling, I think that you should only play with what you are willing to lose. All begining strategies focus on playing tight, and loosening up as you improve in skills.
Play within you bankroll, if you like NLHE boot up some 1$ SnGs at Pokerstars, if you like limit play the .02/.04 tables.

honestly I dont see why you would play poker with the objective to break even but if its your goal...
Play AA KK QQ AK (always raise and reraise PF)
raise limpers and reraise 1 raise with JJ TT
raise limpers 99 88 77 AQ (call 1 raise)
+ limp PP in unraised pot in late position and blinds
fold anything else and you should break even IMO and probably make some $$$
However I never tried a tigh strategy like that, but its supposed to work according to a few books...

Well I just read Pylo's post
My post is for limit
for NL, breaking even is a lot less mathematical...
I know few NL plyers who are not big winners or big lossers.

A bit different.. helmuth suggest to reraise with any of the top 10 hands, and he folds 22-33-44-55-66 any time.
