The reason Ax isn't a playable hand is because you're not playing against RANDOM HANDS.
People seem to think they are...you're not. The fact that someone has paid to play their hand indicates that it is no longer random, it now has some worth.
Unfortunately, if you're playing A3, and there are other ppl in the pot, there's a good chance someone has you outkicked.

Dude, generalizations are always good - except when they're not.

Heres my calculator:
My hand is ahead when chips go in middle
Whatever opponent holds will suck out on river
So thinking about it doesn't matter.
Can you tell that I am on a whale of a losing streak and getting more bitter by the minute?
Agghhhhhh..........at least my PFO fantasy hockey team is good...no wait. They suck too.
i promise no more posts today...I am way to negative for public discourse right now.

If we look at the thread topic, the presuppositions are 1. preflop, and 2. two hands.
Under these presuppositions, Jason's generalization holds in all possible cases.

Just to further constrain this, assumption #2 is KQ vs. Ax - 2 hands.

jason has a very good point - i have a post showing that 78 CAN be a favotire over AA preflop ( if all 10 peope at table go all in with the proper cards) but im definately not using that fact to say 78 is better than AA
