Bank Roll for SNG's
I am primarily playing single table sit and go's in Nl Hold 'Em. I feel comfortable playing at this level and have built my bankroll from $50 to about $200. Is this enough to move up and start playing $20 buy ins or not? What size bankroll would people recommend for moving up?

The rule of thumb ("shoulda been rule of wrist, that woulda hurt more ya think?") is 20 buy-ins for for tournaments. So with a bank of $200, you can probably play the $10's, that is if you are a winning player.

Gder, I have already won about 5 in a row, and also filed to place in about 10 in a row so am aware of the variances just unaware of how much is recommended to compensate for the variances.
Thanks for the answer answer Marm.

Then you might want to think about, at least on the side, playing sites that have "jackpot" SnG's that pay you off for winning X in a row.

thats too bad then, if you had been playing @ nobel poker, and won 6 in arow instead of 5, you would have gotten the 1,000,000 jackpot.

Stick to the minimum of 20 X buy-in. You will have runs where you are winning and can move to the next level quickly, but the bad runs come too.
I ran about 60 ITM for a few months, and resisted the notion that the bad run is coming. Now I am down to 40% overall and am just on a horrendous run which has seen me shrink to $280 after high water mark of $350 over last 3 weeks.
Every time I think I have turned the corner (2 or 3 moneys in a row) I hit a skid of 5 or 6 outs which isjust crushing my confidence.
I am sticking to my plans and will drop back down if roll slides to $200. I might even go down earlier just to build some confidence back if I dont turn it around real soon.
I am on a run where every fish is calling me down with crap and hitting miracles on the river. Even overbetting the pot can't shake these clowns, and I am now ending up with all my chips at risk only to see the miracle card hit.
I am telling myself its just normal variance, but I think I have let it affect my play somewhat. I need to get back to basics, and things should improve.
Sorry to digress..............20X buy-in minimum.
When you move up, allow yourself down to 15X new level before dropping back down. If you are fortunate enought to start with a good run, you wont be in the grey zone for long.
