This hand kind of confused me. After the cap on the flop (which I'm not sure was the best move) I was ready to fold to a bet on the turn...

I was new to the table so I had no reads. The more I think about it, the more I think I may have been beaten...opinions that aren't based on results please.

I think capping is fine, and folding to a bet on the turn would have been horrendous.

EDIT: I probably wouldn't keep capping it on the turn and river if it had come to that, but definitely wouldn't fold at any time. I notice that when I raise and am then heads up, the other person in the pot will quite frequently try to get cute. They expect a continuation bet, and if you miss your draw and get raised they hope to just scare you off with the raise. And it also isn't unusual for them to keep after it even when it doesn't work. Don't know why though.

Cap this flop, and at least 2 bet the turn, call the river (bet if he called/check the turn/river)

DO NOT FOLD THIS. Seeing a showdown is +EV.

EDIT: HAHAHA Guess you convinced him you were serious...
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

thecoss didn't pre-flop raise so pocket KK is unlikely. You have TPTK so capping flop is reasonable enough but I can see where you might be wondering about a set of 8s or 4s but that was nullified when he checked into you on the turn - woud you check a set after capping the flop? That only leaves 2 pair (suited 8-4, K-4 or K-8) and again would you check 2 pair after capping the flop? Doesn't add up - but if your not sure you have to at least check it down but not before betting out at least one more time - which you did! You still had 5 outs (4 if you credit thecross with one) so folding isn't good IMO.

I love it Trons! Aggressive limit poker is the way to go, especially with the spades on the board. I cap flops with alot worse than this, trust me. The truth comes out on the turn in limit and he checked - there is your truth.

I'd suggest making your own thread so you can tell us what's up with the site you're advertising though

What's wrong with capping the flop there? If I put in 4 bets on the flop, and my opponent is STILL raising the turn, then I will start thinking I may be beat and just call down. Just because your opponent bets at ya doesn't mean you're beat... it could mean middle pair or maniac (idiot) just as easily. If you routinely fold solid made hands like this to aggression, try calling down for a day... you'll be shocked how often a mediocre holding will be best after that kind of action. I know I'm usually pretty suprised when I call down a maniac with unimproved AK and beat his Q high in large pots... but it happens way more then the percentage you need it to for at least calling down to be profitable.
-You may not know this, but poker is a game of incomplete information.

Well... did'nt see the result, but I would have bet that turn for sure.

more than 50% of the time you have the best hand here IMO nad if you bet, you'll know it very soon.

If he raise CHK CALL the river....
