    Default Easy Call?

Playing in a turbo SnG on Stars 15$ +1 buy in

I am the chip leader with about 7100 chips
2nd place is a donkey with about 4800
3rd place has only about 1600 left, a tight passive player

the blinds are 300/600 with an ante

I am in the small blind, 3rd place is BB and the donkey is on the button

    I get dealt

Donkey pauses for a while and goes all-in, now this got me thinking why would he do that? A big hand KK or AA he would probably min raise or 3X BB raise. I figured he was trying to isolate the 3rd place player with a marginal hand, AT etc...or a small pair.

My thought process is that if I win this hand I am pretty much got a lock on 1st, a hand that I am at least 2-1 to win. Is this an easy call? or am I just over-analyzing it?

900 chips in pot. He's about to fork over to the blinds. I'm thinkin' he's stealin or if he has run into a hand AK your flippin' and AQ your laughing. I call! I know your gonna say he has AA, KK, or AK and catches... But I'd still call the chizzler. lol I play with a bit of ego. Maybe not a good thing. 900 chips in blinds are worth taking. Unfortunate part is your gonna run into hands what can ya do?

Q-Q is a powerful hand 3-way - be very tuf to lay down.

I take it by your reference to 'Donkey' - you lost the hand?

Actually I won the hand, but I try not to be too results orientated. By 'Donkey' I mean he is not very good and makes alot of odd plays.

I called figuring I was at least 2-1 to win. I did some quick math, if I won the hand I basically won the SnG which is worth 67$. If I lost the hand I still had a reasonable shot at taking 2nd place, so I called.

he flipped over A2o, I suppose an A is a good hand to try and isolate the short stack who was basically forced to call the all in. But he could have done it my raising 3X the BB as equally easy, that way if I had a big hand and re-raised he could get away from the hand.

Please god tell me you called. Even if you lose, you're still alive. I know situations like this can be scary at first, but ask yourself: If I'm not going to call with this hand, what will I call with?

Good call. And the BB overcalled, which he was sort of forced to do (though I would have folded anything under QQ in his position and tried to take 2nd if you take out the 2nd place stack).

These are always great situations. Short handed, second stack goes all in with the tiny stack in the BB and you pick up a monster. I'm thinking "let's end this fucker right here".

yes, you are over thinking. I am not sure I would dump QQ at any point in a turbo SnG.

and I would not be surprised if he had AA or KK.

Sorry, the short stack decided to fold. I guess he figured he could move up a spot if I knocked out donkey. Knocked him off about 4 hands later.

    thanks for the input
