Basically, i'm a little confused by that raise here. He limped UTG so i thought there was the possibility (though slim) of aces full. I just couldn't see how the river could have helped him. I know laying this down probably isn't a possibility, but should I just call? Or push it allin?

Raise man, only a set or straight beat more times then often you will have the best hand.

i would call, it's hard to imagine him calling a raise with any hand that doesn't beat you. If you are ahead, this looks like he has 89 and missed his draw.

Thats correct, but with that board and betting pattern what other hand could he have that he will call a re-raise with?

He either has a weak Ten, a set, or a missed draw. I can't imagine he has an Ace and played it that way on the turn, AA maybe.

well...the right answer for this one was Beav's allin.

the dumbass had , and i lost my chance at an extra 12K or so... would have helped me as i just got knocked out, which is another ridiculous story

I still think long-term the right play is call.

Yea before i saw results i thought either a wacky 2 pair or a slow played set. Depends on what u think of the player. But usually a minraise on the river like that would make me flat call.

If I don't know anything about this guy (which I don't here), this is just a call. If I know he's a manaic or plays junk when he calls, then maybe I consider an all in about 50% of the time.

I know it hurts when you just call and your opponent turns over crap, but I think it's the right play here. You've got top two, but he's playing like he has a set of 2's, 7's, or A's (I agree that not much else makes sense, definitely not 34, a bigger ace, or a set of T's). I guess he could have A7, A5, or A2 but having no info on him, I'm going to assume he's tighter than that from UTG+1.

First off, that pot is big enough. There's 16600 in the pot and it's 4K to call, you only have to be right one time out of 4 for this to be a break even call. However, even if you lose you still have 12K in chips for an M of exactly 20, so you're still in good shape.

If you push it all in, and he does have a set you're out of the tourney on a hand that you admittedly didn't have a good feel for. Tourneys are about the long haul, don't get too aggressive when you're not sure what's going on unless you're holding a nearly unbeatable hand (resist the "aw, fuck it - I'm all in" mentality).
