Okay, playing the usual $1 1020 EST Turbo on UB. Built stack up to around 9k, but blinds and antes, are eating me away. 600/1200, 100 ante i think but not sure,
Anyways, dealt 22 in the BB, folds all the way around to SB (who is CL at our table) and puts in a good size raise 3k ish. If I fold, I have around 5k left with about 160/1201 left (top 140 pay, but it is so miniscule that unless you make the final table it doesn't really mean anything), do you push and pray here? My move in white:
Hero moves all in, SB calls, flipps over 77...ooops, wait flop brings a 2, the turn brings the other.
Yes I got lucky, but I figure that making the money or surviving wasn't as important as taking a chance to double up and put myself in better position make better money.

Personally im prolly pushing, even though you are at a coin flip at best but you can't sit around forever, because if u finish in 140 place or whatever it was that pays you are only going to make 20 cents so you gotta play to win

yeah I push, and expect to bust about 60% of the time.
Pot is worth it though

key word is turbo... in turbo tournaments survival is pretty much irrelevent... go for broke if laying the hand down cripples your chances of staying in the tournament for any period of time... blinds hurt really fast

noooooo....i fold in a second, dont even think about it...you still have a few rounds left...you could go 3 rounds without a hand, double up, and be at more than you're at now. pick a better spot

I'd fold and you have no hope in folding the CL.
Wait unitil you are first in and push in just about all hands at this point.

In a turbo survival and stalling at the right times are the key. There is no point trying to get chips because in 3 minutes the blinds will cover you and everyone else. The only time it is helpful to have chips is if it will bring you to have more chips than your neighbors so they cant bust you when they are blinds.

I used to think stalling/survival was the right move. Until I got tired of sitting there watching the blinds eat me up while waiting for a "better hand' which usually doesn't come.
With 3 rounds left before you blind out. your not in a catastrophic situation so it's borderline, however, doubling up gives you more push around power. A pair of 2's against one other player is far from a monster but you have a fighting chance. Waiting and pushing with a small stack and whats probably still going to be a marginal hand and being called in 2 or 3 places is going to hurt.
Another important factor I'd consider is if there's something good to watch on TV. If theres something decent on, I'm pushing.
