okay so i'm playing a $7 + $.50 tourney on BoDog. I've been wathing this one guy play for a bunch of hands and he's raising with not really raising hands. a/7, 10/j, and making stealing attempts from CO and Button with 3/4 etc.
so i finally jump in a hand with him that he raised up pf. i am SB with a/6.
q/3/x on flop. turns out he has queen / three.
the rest is pointless. queen paired as did nines on the board. so the way this tool was playing i had to assume my ace high was good. of course the one time i get in hand with him he actually has a hand.
i'm so mad

He put you on tilt.
You really need to watch how these guys play post-flop.

Tournaments are so much different than ring games because surviving to the final table is so critical to hand selection and play strategy. You left out a lot of information such a pot sizes, bets, level in the tourney, number of players and etc so just how seriously your play affected your tourney life is unknown.
If you had a large pot and he had a small one you would not be at great risk and playing the 'tool' could gain you some respect - but you CAN NOT risk your tourney life in an effort to put down a bluffer with a weak hand. Although we have all done it!
Ace-6 is not a strong hand at a full table but is pretty good at a short-handed one so this becomes a factor as well as the choice of just calling a raise and seeing the flop or come over-top with 'all-in' pre-flop where it has the greatest impact. As long as he is making you make the tough decisions he has the advantage but by taking control as early as possible, the advantage then goes to you - AS LONG AS YOU CAN AFFORD IT! Otherwise, you have to fold and wait for a better opportunity.

He is obviously loose but it is important to note if he is aggressive or passive. And besides, if you're in the pot with him you need to hit to flop somewhat to play with him. For example, if he's passive, you're not going to bluff him out of the pot so you might as well fold if you have nothing. And if he's aggressive, you don't know what he could be holding so you need decent cards because there's likely going to be lots of action.
