Hey all, new here! (Though I've been peeking in and out for a little while)
I've been playing online for just about 1.5 years. My strongest game is limit holdem, I started out with $2.5 tourneys (10 seats) and now I'm doing $5 ones, at pacific poker.
Anyway, I almost always get to the top 4, which is (IMO) when the game dynamics totally change. At this point, the blinds are pretty high and one can easily lose half their stash on any given ordinary hand. This is the weakest part of my game, and I was wondering if there's any general guidelines by which you guys usually play it. I'm generally a very conservative player, which (for me) works wonders up until this point in the game. Are there any well-known write-ups on this? What are your big Do's and Dont's? Do you start to play weaker hands to avoid getting swiped by the blinds?
I've only been taking poker as a hobby, and I've only made about $350 so far since I started. I think, though, that mastering my end game would be key in bumping up my profits.
Anyway, I would love to hear some comments about this. Thanks!

Generally in that situation you are forced to play very fast...just remember...with four players remaining you are going to have the best hand going in 25% of the time. You have to play loose and aggressive....although playing hands that you would normally consider to be weak become much stronger with less people at the table. So technically you can play the hands that you normally consider to be weak and still be labeled as playing a tight game. Hope that helped. Just always to remember to factor in that 25%...it always seems to help me...whenever I start throwing away too many hands I tell myself that I will have the best hand going in 25% of the time with four people...helps me to kepp things in perspective.
It is very important at this stage to not be outplayed before the flop...meaning that if you have even a marginal hand and you are facing a raise...do not necessarily throw your cards away...fight to get those blinds.

Hey dude, read this thread
Sit & Go Strategy Party Poker
I've been using this strategy for a few weeks now and its been working pretty good. The last ten 10$ SnG i've played, 7 of them i finished int the top 3.
1st - 4
2nd - 1
3rd - 2
4th - 1
6th - 2
I tryed a couple of 20$ SnG, but I didn't have any luck there. So I think this strategy works best with 5$/10$ ten people SnG.
Good luck, merry christmas and be sure to never eat yellow snow!!

Ahha, bad idea, unless you are playing on Party. That strategy was designed for a specfic strucutre in mind, and I dont believe Pacific has the same one.
