Default Would anyone have played this differently

Texas Hold'em $0.50-$1 (real money), hand #1,240,450,192
Table Clarksville, 6 Sep 2005 08:55 AM

Seat 2: ribo1949 ($90.20 in chips)
Seat 3: Martha10 ($5.35 in chips)
Seat 4: x pittman ($249.80 in chips)
Seat 5: -Ebi- ($30 in chips)
Seat 6: Phytopath77 [] ($17.50 in chips)
Seat 7: sjl440 ($17.80 in chips)
Seat 8: sardidimus ($20 in chips)
Seat 9: DesperadO8 ($40 in chips)
Seat 10: broccoliboy ($50.80 in chips)

ANTES/BLINDS
sjl440 posts blind ($0.25), sardidimus posts blind ($0.50), -Ebi- posts blind ($0.50).

PRE-FLOP
DesperadO8 folds, broccoliboy calls $0.50, ribo1949 folds, Martha10 folds, x pittman calls $0.50, -Ebi- checks, Phytopath77 bets $1, sjl440 calls $0.75, sardidimus calls $0.50, broccoliboy calls $0.50, x pittman calls $0.50, -Ebi- calls $0.50.

I'm on the button with a bunch of limpers, figure hopefully raise it up and make the idiots playing their weak aces pay if they are gonna get lucky

FLOP [board cards ]
sjl440 checks, sardidimus checks, broccoliboy checks, x pittman checks, -Ebi- checks, Phytopath77 bets $0.50, sjl440 calls $0.50, sardidimus bets $1, broccoliboy folds, x pittman calls $1, -Ebi- folds, Phytopath77 bets $1, sjl440 calls $1, sardidimus calls $0.50, x pittman calls $0.50.

wow great flop no flush draws, not much in the way of straight draws and I have the nuts here, they all checked around to me but I figured I better not give them anything so I bet hoping to get re-raised which I do. I think for a moment about slow-playing it but figure these idiots will probably call 2 bets cold, which they do

TURN [board cards ]
sjl440 checks, sardidimus checks, x pittman checks, Phytopath77 bets $1, sjl440 bets $2, sardidimus folds, x pittman folds, Phytopath77 bets $2, sjl440 calls $1.

another really good card here, there is a flush draw now so I better bet hard if people are chasing, I get raised...okay I am hoping he also has a set or possibly 2 pair, I still have the best possible hand so I re-raise

RIVER [board cards ]
sjl440 bets $1, Phytopath77 bets $2, sjl440 bets $2, Phytopath77 calls $1.

I figured the 9 is a decent card, my lone opponent raised me on the turn..indicating that he may have been slowplaying a set of the 8s or had 2 pair, I re-raise even though I don't have the nuts. He re-raises, so I just call

SHOWDOWN
sjl440 shows [ JH,10C ]
Phytopath77 mucks cards [ QS,QD ]
sjl440 wins $23.50.

this made me sick, I can see calling the flop he had the implied odds to do so as he did if he had just called the turn, but what was he doing raising the turn?? Did I mess this hand up or was it just another terrible beat? I looked it over and I think I did everything right, I played it fast and still got burned

SUMMARY
Dealer: Phytopath77
Pot: $24, (including rake: $0.50)
ribo1949, loses $0
Martha10, loses $0
x pittman, loses $2.50
-Ebi-, loses $1

sjl440, bets $8.50, collects $23.50, net $15

nope.

textbook says you can check this flop, but seeing the action still got, you're better off playing this just as you did.

Might as well move this to the rats section.

I didn't check because I was on the button, it was checked around to me and I was hoping to get check raised which I did. I thought it might have been a mistake to 3 bet the flop, ie in losing action but they all called.

the only thing you can do here is grab your ankles and take, nothing you could do betting wise with the nuts the whole hand then the 2nd nuts on the river

Shit like that makes me understand why people think the game is rigged.

Checking the flop with that many opponents is terrible. When check-raised though, I may be tempted to just call and hope he bets the turn so you can now raise. But sometimes straight forward is the best, the guy obviously didnt have much of a hand, probably an under-pair.

In my defense, I posted before he edited, seeing his thought processes now, I Wouldn't dream of checking... All I saw was a raw HH,

Alright figured I played it as hard as I could.

I still haven't figured out how to whomp these idiots on Pokerroom, I seem to do much better against players who can actually think.....it's odd I know
