Well I was at the table for a while ghettocash was playing everyhand dealt and trying to bluff on almost everystreet throughout the game Hertford was a typically Elephant, though they all try to make some fancy plays. I was in late middle position and get dealt this.

I was making a value bet here on the river, I knew the str8 was there but figured no one had the pot-odds to call with a gut-shot, also why would you check if you hit it, kinda counter productive IMO. Would people have just checked the river here? I guess that calling the re-raises on the river was my mistake

Actually, they were easily getting the odds to chase a gutshot on the turn.
I also think you should have checked behind on the river. At these limits when there's a four card draw on the table, SOMEONE is gonna have it. Show down your hand here.-You may not know this, but poker is a game of incomplete information.

I realised after they did have additional outs and there was enough money in the pot after the turn to make that call.

Don't base you opinions of what your opponents have on it being incorrect to call.
All you have is one pair on a very coordinated board facing a raise and re-raise. I don't think one pair will win this often enough to make that call profitable.

This is a mindless check on the river ... who is gonna call you that you can beat, a pair of 6s?? You check call here in most games, in others, you might even check fold.

Definite check on the river. and an even more definite fold to a check-raise, check-raise re-raise!
Is the re-raiser dumb enough to try to bluff a river check-raiser???? and is the check raiser dumb enough to try to bluff you who was willing to bet this hand at the river???
Definite check and definite fold to the additional bets.Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

I realise what I did wrong here, this thread is a week old....no need to continually rub it in
I'm not too upset about the original bet here, in this instance I still felt it wasn't a terrible play, in a tougher game I will check in a similar situation.
Calling the double-raise was stupid and wont happen again. Now please let the post die a noble and horrible death
