anyone have any suggestions for strategies to beat the following format, as my results seem to fluctuate a lot.
the game is a live SnG. 6-8 handed usually 6 or 7.
each player starts with T1000 and blinds at 10/20, doubling every hr.
the dealing is pretty slow so not as many hands per hr as you may imagine.
my strategy is as follows and is similar to how i play an online SnG
blinds, 10/20-20/40. very tight hand selection. i am mainly playing AA-TT and AK and AQ for a raise, maybe AJ in CO or button.
also i play the other pairs if i can see an unraised/cheap flop for set value. i may play Axs in late position. i play SC's less and only if there are enough limpers to build a decent size pot.
i am aiming to not risk my stack with poor cards and hope to have around T800-1200 for when the blinds become worthwhile. also i am building up a tight image.
40/80 onwards i use my tight image to buy some pots. lowering my starting requirements in late position etc.

Thats good, seems like you have a good strat nailed down, but maybe try the complete opposite? See how it works like?
Frequently enter the pot if you can get in cheap, see lots of cheap flops, hit a hand, and take a lot of chips. This will only work if the entire table is pretty much passive.
Different Tourny style: Limp and Go.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
Luck is a Residue of Design.
