I have heard that winning greater then 75% of your showdowns probably means that you're playing too tight and not bluffing/value betting enough on the river.

I say Dont do take out all you're bankroll into one strategy. You can adapt to SS(h). But if you start going on a losing streak it miught be bad luck or just the strategy you're dealing with

75% is a rediculous number. shoot for 51-55

No, Ed Miller wrote it, and then Sklansky and Malmuth tacked their names on it.

You should be looking for about 18%-22% flops with SSH, depending on how you play (I leaned more towards 18 while beavis was more along 22%, but he did have a higher winrate), and bboy is right on the showdwon stats, 75% is not practical.

The biggest concept to understand from this book is Equity. The reason you are being very aggressive with marginal hands is because they actually have a large share of the pot's Equity when compared to the other hands in play. Your hand stands a better chance than the others to win at showdown, so you bet your ass off. This is playing the odds at its finest. Yes its scary when you first read it and go "You want me to play WHAT UTG? I usually fold Q9s from LP!"
