I agree with dope here... jsut punch the guy in seat 4... just some random guy... good anti-tilt.... makes for good conversation too.

PJ, just stick to your game, and play your game... dont be going out of your way to play a certain player... Schoonmaker has had some articles in CP on this, ego and all. Check them out...

Default in touch with your feelings..

I dont know the stacks around the table - but sound like they were pretty low.

With AQ any raise at this point is likely to fire off an all-in. Its a marginal call but after the raise you had odds to call it. (yes I know AQ is underdog to PP but you also have to balance up the odds of getting a hand this strong again for what is essentially a coin toss).

During the later stages of a tournament a preflop bet is simply an indication that you will go all-in. You don't have enough chips to mess around post flop....

It is more important to double your stack in a tournament than stay in

You need to make a succession of all-in marginal calls/coin tosses in an MTT just to keep up with the blind increases.

In the later stage of a tourney nothing would make me put down AK - The gods had decided to bust you at that point - at least they gave you three outs

Feelings - turn off the chat - play the game. I sometimes leave my chat on by mistake and am constantly horrified at the level of purile chat and insults. There are few things more unnerving than having a player at a table who doesn't respond and acts decisively, quickly and with aggression.

It was live, and I talk a lot... it gets me information a lot of the time.

And yeah, we play very low stacks. Re-raising preflop would generally put half your stack in.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

you said you found out his hole cards where you folded to his re-raise after,

i am assuming then that i have all the info you have given except his cards (he may be lying).

btw i dont think you have said where he is sitting when you raise, we know he is to your left but is he in BB etc when you raise these times.

i would think that there is a player who percieves me as either weak or over aggressive. this player is re-rasing the majority of times you preflop raise so you need to make a stand against this guy. you cannot keep raising and then folding to his re-raise.

when i raise preflop i would be expecting him to re-raise all in with 77+ and AK, also depending on the player other PP's, and various combinations if high cards e.g. AQ, KQ. he may have a high PP each time of course but this is unlikely.

if you raise with AK you are prob a favoirite against the average hand he will re-raise with plus you have some overlay in the pot and he may fold.

i would therefore raise with AK knowing that i would call an all-in reraise.

I know he was in the BB once when I was on the button... I popped it UTG one time so he was in middle... don't remember the first time.

Thanks Bobby. I am a pretty agressive player... with all the calling stations and fish at these tourneys I don't like to show down a lot of hands. I like to bet big and pick up small pots without a showdown... and I hear about it. When I sit down at a table there's a couple guys who moan and complain (haven't had anyone try to leave yet lol). I'm not sure if he thought I was weak... I knocked him out once playing A7 when he bet all-in on a 7 high flop with AQ.

I also figured I had to take a stand. If he keeps doing it there is NO WAY I can play my game except to wait for Aces or Kings.

If everyone has a small stack in relation to the blinds, like say 20 BB's or less, i would call here. But if you were pretty deep stacked, i would fold this. Much easier to find a better spot assuming you have a big stack.
