Last Night, PS 10+1 rebuys, 1200 entrants down to around 250. 135 paid.
I just changed table, i haven't played a hand last 14 hands, unless my BB which was folded to me.
Got 15k, average 30k.
AQo on the button and it folds to me.
SB has 70k, haven't seen him play and BB is 25k and played a lot of hands.
Blinds : 600-1200.
Instead of my usual 3x BB raise, I go all-in to make them think I don't want to be called.
Will I only pick-up the blinds unless the other guys have a medium-good PP or AQ/AK? Is it a good move or should I raise 3x BB? If i'm reraised all-in, it's hard to throw away given my stack... I need advice on this one.
I'll tell you what happens after a couple response not to influence me. Of course I lost but the point is not there... Outdrawn or not, was it a good bet?

Are there any antes yet? If so, I think a push to try and pick up the blinds and antes is a good move - if you get called you're probably 50/50 to double up. If there are no antes and you're just playing for the blinds I think maybe try to see a flop and see if you can't hit a monster.
I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

^what he said, plus people start getting a little more tight towards the money stages...(160/250) the sb and bb were in good pos. to make it in, I think it's a good move.

Antes are 75 so the pot is :
1200+600 + 75 * 9 = 2475
2475/15000 = 16% of my stack

I never like the all-in blind steal move. If someone is going to fold, they are going to fold to a 3BB-7BB raise. If I don't want action I will go a little higher. I find that this will usually get me my blinds without potentially risking my entire stack. If someone plays back real hard I can get away from hand without being knocked from the tourney.
I just tend to play it a little closer to the vest than most. A person with a hand is most likely calling me and I can trust my post flop play to do ok. If I am re-raised all-in I have a decision to make.
The key for me is I want to be making the decision, not just shoving my chips in the middle and praying everyone folds.

I'm doing this move to make people think I only want to steal the blinds and not being called, which is not totally true.
I may get a call from hands like A10, AJ, KQ.
Effectively, a 3-5 x BB raise may have the same effect... But you look weaker when you go all-in (looking like you want to steal blinds) than when you do a 3-5xBB raise.
Maybe AQ is not good enough to make this play (fake weakness going all-in), maybe only AK, QQ, KK and AA are strong enough...

you have 15K so raising to 3600 means you almost have to call a reraise at this point. just go all in to make a hand like TJs fold or pay a big price to play.
If they have you beat all your money is gonna be in the middle regardless so put it in yourself.
Of course you almost want action here since your hand dominates quite a few someone may call a short stacked all in with, AJ, AT, KQ.
This will also keep you from getting bluffed out post flop on a K73 type flop with your opponent acting first and you on a shortstack there is a good chance you will be bet into here.
With about 12 BBs left at this stage of a tournament its pretty much all in or fold here. If you pick up these blinds/antes and 1 more before the blinds get back to you it will completely change your situation. giving you close to a 20K stack instead of less than 15K after the antes.Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

I agree with most everything here (all in or fold), however I'm leaning closer to fold because SB has such a big stack. He's probably going to play with almost any 2 cards to try to get lucky.

you actually want him to play at this point, you need to double up.

PLease Trons, if he plays bad cards, I'm fine with it, I will more likely double up which is fine. When I'm shortstack, If I go all-in with the best hand I'm fine.
I wouldn't do the same thing with a huge stack.
Also, 15k means something for a 70k stack.
