Yes..I agree that you need to cut the line, but the odds are that if you fold 66 you are probably folding the best hand PF............there are only 8 made pairs better than this................everything else is a drawing hand. To me any PP is worth at least a limp. If I am in EP at a very aggressive table I will change this strategy because I don't expect to see a cheap flop.
But I believe that this thread is talking about halfway through a tourney when you only have 4 or 5 at the table. In this instance I think that any PP is a raising hand from any position as I stated before.

The difference is that at some point your pocket pair has decent shot at being an overpair. Since that's incredibly unlikely with either 66 or 77 (and if they ARE there will be some nasty straight possibilities on the board), I put them very much in the same category. Somewhere around T's or J's I start to think that I have a hand that has at least a decent chance winning unimproved.

Not sure if this correct, but I'll limp with any PP (lower ones hopeing for the set on the flop and folding if I don't hit). I'll also call a single raise PF with these hands although I wince when I do it. Raise with 1010 or better. I'll play any two painted (is a 10 concidered painted...I haven't been, not sure if I should added it). Suited connectors down to 98. I will also play A10o, K9o. Those last two I'm playing specifically for the str8 and 2 pair hands and will usually get nervous if I only pair one.

Following all this, I'm wondering why am I playing 99 down to 66... You play them for set value, you need to catch it on the flop, because someone will probably raise the flop whatever comes. So you have 12% chance to hit your set on the flop... You must have a very large stack (against another large stack)
But I don't see myself folding 99, seems to hard for me.
I'm now able to fold A10 and AJ to raise pre-flop and AQ to all-ins pre-flop, but folding 99 first to talk is hard...

It entirely depends on the table. If you're at a table where 80% of the hands don't see a raise pre-flop then your probably safe trying to limp UTG with 99. Likewise, if a lot of hands get raised pre-flop, but you're still get 4 or 5 people seeing every flop, then you're probably getting ok odds to try and limp and call a raise if need be. However, if most hands are 2 or 3 way after the flop and many of them are getting raised, you have to ask yourself if you're willing to take the risk of playing your 99 to a raise in a 3 way pot.
