How strong is this hand?

Hmm - under normal circumstances, I'd say it's unlikely that anyone hit this flop, but with two limpers and a BB who got in for free it's about impossible to tell.
In a regular tournament I'd say check-fold, but in a turbo I'd say it's worth a bet to try and take the pot here. I don't think you want to see another card - about the only safe cards for you are 7, 8, 2, and maybe 3 - anything else could complete someone else's straight or put another overcard on the board.Last edited by Girevik; 08-09-2005 at 11:03 AM.
I'm CDO. It's like OCD, but everying is in order just like it should be.

How strong is it? Not very...but you have bottom pair and an open ended straight draw...............
I think a probe bet of about 1/3 pot is a good move here. You only have to win it one out of 3 times to be profitable. If you get a caller you are probably done with the hand. Someone will bet out and may just win it, might as well be you.
You know, I am amazed how often the lead bet, even into a scary board, wins the hand. I don't love that there are 4 in hand, but you do have a piece of the table, so bet for some info.

Honestly
I'd say to take a stab at the pot, but you'd have to do so without showing weakness. If you get called and don't hit you pretty much have to concede the hand to the other player by checking. Limpers with J10o or the nightmare hand in this case that people like to limp with j9 the board is too dangerous. I take back what I said the more I analyze this hand the more I'm thinking check-fold unless its a weak ass bet then come way over the top.

Heads-up, I would say this is a monster. Against 3 players, and after a more sober reflection, I think it sucks.
If someone has a J, they problably have JT, J9, J8, QJ something that messes with my outs, KJ is probably the best I could hope for. T9 or 98 is possible as is a flush draw plus some other draw.
I let this hand bust me out - but I did go play some HU S8b vs Marm and schooled him well, and paid for my tournaments for the night

Yup, I found a game that I CAN'T play.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

I like a probe type bet here, maybe a little bigger. Ideally you take it down here. If they call, I think you probably go to check-down mode. I think there is a good chance you have the best hand or you can get somebody with a slightly better hand to fold. It is a nice sized pot if you are able to take it down. I'd like to hear from a few other people first. I'd also like to hear how exactly you went bust on this hand.

Wasn't thinking, pushed - bad play, but I had a lot of outs. He had J9 or J8. Wouldn't expect to see those hands at this stages, I hit a T to give me a worse two pair.

repeat...probe bet.
Gets you inofrmation with minimal risk.
All in gets you same information but costs you entire stack.

But it feels good to be all-in

I don't disagree, I like gambling in Turbo's though. In retrospect, I could have played it much, much better. That is why I posted the hand, it is a hand with a lot of potentional outs, but many of those outs won't be good against many players.
