So, I'm grinding it out at a $.02/.04 limit table today (right now) and this guy sits down with $5k in chips. I had been doing fairly well. Sat down with $2 and had turned it in to a little over $5 in an hour and a half, when he sat down.
He starts raising every hand. So I go into ultra tight mode. I've been playing here like this for the last 30 min or so and am breaking even.
Question: In a situation like this, should I leave and find another table?

Hell no. But when you have a hand, you're going to need to raise and cap and try your best to get heads up with him.
EDIT: You realize the guy with 5000 is JKo from this forum?
Basically do this:
PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Bonchy is MP3 with
,
.
4 folds, MP2 calls, Bonchy raises, 2 folds, SB 3-bets, 1 fold, MP2 calls, Bonchy caps, SB calls, MP2 calls.
Flop: (13 SB)
,
,
(3 players)
SB bets, MP2 folds, Bonchy raises, SB 3-bets, Bonchy caps, SB calls.
Turn: (10.50 BB)
(2 players)
SB bets, Bonchy raises, SB 3-bets, Bonchy caps, SB calls.
River: (18.50 BB)
(2 players)
SB bets, Bonchy raises, SB 3-bets, Bonchy caps, SB calls.
Final Pot: 26.50 BB
Results in white below:
SB has 7s Kh (two pair, kings and eights).
Bonchy has Kd As (two pair, kings and eights).
Outcome: Bonchy wins 26.50 BB.Last edited by bonchkid; 08-06-2005 at 08:14 PM.

i saw you capping it with 99 on a Axx against me and another player? thats not how you win with somebody playing agro like that. just waste for your spots and get paid.
you have A LOT to learn from what i saw todayit's better to be pissed off than pissed on

JKo, you're right (should I add 'of course'?) I was doing fairly well at the table (up $3 in about 2 hours) when you showed up, and I kind of (understatement) went on tilt with your play. The 99 I was capping with, I was concentrating on beating you and not paying attention to the table.

Well, it depends if you can handle the swings or not. Obviously your working on a short bankroll since your playing the micro micro limits (Hell, even I started at .05/.10, but you gotta start somewhere).
Yes, this is going to be uncomfortable, but if you have the bank to take the loss of a whole buy-in, then stay and play, and play tight enough to make grande money. But you can;t play scared, and not having enough bank will do that.
This is a high profit, high variance game, if you're uncomfortable with that, move to a lower profit, but greatly lower variance game.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
