Ok...When I first started playing real money online, I had a very limited understanding of the game. I did fairly well in micro buy in tourneys, winning enough to keep my minute BR above where it started (I started with $10, was able to keep it around $13-$18). I kept reading stratagy articles and really trying to improve my game.
I've noticed that while I personally feel my play has improved, my results are going down. My BR has dropped to about $6...I play mainly .75/.25 NLHE SnGs (the site I'm at doesn't have micro limit ring).
My question: Is it normal in a learning curve where you "know" it, but can't "implement" it properly and that takes practice, or is it just that because these are such low limits ability doesn't really matter.

Yup.... Its a curve.
its jsut like anything... You learn a new skill, but it takes a little practice...
And, you may be using the wrong skills at the tables. You might be playing the wrong game at the wrong game....Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

Yes, its usually not what you know but how you use it. Your new knowledge could be misapplied at the moment.
Maybe you never knew what a semi-bluff was and now you do but you are misusing it right now. This is more detrimental than not knowing what it is.

If he means .75+.25, it is probably impossible to beat.
if it is 10-man and assuming you finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in even incraments.
$1=7.5x= 13.3% each spot, you would have to finish 40% ITM just to break even.
10% ROI is a 44% ITM - that is insane.

he's playing on prima and I know they do have a $.75 + .25 SNG so I think that's what he's talking about

That's exactly what I'm talking about...1st pays $3.75, 2nd is like 2.25 and 3rd is 1.5 irc...I'll be honest, I never thought about the rake, I figured all I had to do was place 2nd or better in better then half the ones I played and I would be making money...Once I got a BR of $25 or so, I was going to move up...I just never made it there.

Trons,
Just play on stars and play the microlimits at first. Quit screwing around with these SNG with that horrendous rake. Do you have an account on Stars yet? Post your screenname and I'll transfer you $15 to screw around with and build your bankroll. And no, that doesn't go for the rest of you, just Trons as I like his posts but he clearly needs to step up!
P.S. If he only has a play money account on stars, if I transfer real money to him it will go through all right, correct?
