Default 1st hand in a $5+1 party SNG

I've been messing around with Steve-o's strategy in these party sit n gos, and decided that since it hadn't been working at all at the $10+1, I'd give it a go at the $5+1, even if the rake was a killer. Here's the very first hand:

Bad beats happen, but you're the favorite to take these fools' money in the long run. Keep at it.

ehh I'm not too concerned about the bad beats, I'm more wondering whether this was the right play. being results oriented, obviously I had the best hand and was in great shape to quadruple up, but in general, without knowing what the other players had should I have called the all-in here?

To me the all in on the 1st hand of a tourney is way too loose. Doubling up does not guarantee you will win and you are risking your whole life...especially against 3 callers.

Your Q's are not even 50% to win this pot.

I know I am alone here, but this is just not my idea of what poker is all about. You may as well be rolling dice.

well even though he is 50% to win he is getting 3 to 1 on his call, long-term its a winning play.

But you're right you can't win the tournament on the first hand, you can't even make the money. Thats the reason I would have folded QQ from the get go, option #2 would be just go all in with it, #3 would be to make a raise.

I've seen a lot of things in my short PP carreer, but 4 way all in better hand being QQ and 2nd best being 99 (by a fucking large margin) is the top!!!

BTW, I would have consider to fold... however, probably have called.

Just because you knew at least 2 of your oponent were donminated. The only one I would have been scared of is the 1st caller. (finaly he had Q-5d)

as i said on vent, this is such an easy fold.

first of all i would raise smaller pf to like 160 or something.(i dont play party s/g though so this could be always bad, but i didnt like his pf raise)

you have to think sue has something and even if she doesnt, which is rare, the initial raiser who popped it to 60 has to have something.

raise less save chips when you are beat and you have to fold here

the problem with party is you can't raise 100-400, if you get moved off the hand you are crippled. It reall is either raise all in or limp and hope to be able to limp re-raise someone.

making standard raises or even well above standard raises on party is suicide.

In the hand above raised to 270 you can't fold here you'll be down to 530 and it could take 100-150 chips before you find a hand to push with.

I know I said I fold QQ and AK, but I wouldn't chastise someone for playing it but you better be all in preflop if you do. the structure doesn't allow you to lose a sizeable pot and be ok.
