Something says fold the turn. I dunno though.

i guess i butchered the hand. i thought the call was a no brainer on the turn. guess not
and a check on the turn woulda been better and call a 1/2 pot bet on river
i think i was def beat on river though by how i played it. i prob dont even get paid if a A or 9 hits
i guess i fucked this upit's better to be pissed off than pissed on

I don't think you should fold on turn I think you call. I doubt the 7 on the river helped him but if its an A or a 9 you have a straight, also with that much already in the pot you have to call, so you should at least see the last card. Tough fold but i think it was the right thing

I dunno, im feeling antagonistic tonight.
Push the turn, I think you're ahead, and if not, you got outs, lots of them.
To me, the only hand that were behind to that makes sense is QJ. In my mind Im seeing K's (2 outs) Aces (4 outs), 9's (4 outs) 7's (3 outs), 4's (3 outs) , 16 outs, and plus the chance you are already ahead, I push.
bad call, bad laydown, KQ and such are too big of chances to lay this down. Psuh and end it now.Last edited by Marm; 07-25-2005 at 08:06 PM.

Really interesting hand. I don't agree with either pushing or folding the flop so I guess that leaves me being ok with the call...
I hate the idea of pushing since you get almost no fold equity from any hand that's beating you
I'm actually inclined to say you played the hand alright.

Nah... he's got 4:1 with a straight draw and an overpair... hang in there.

It really depends on your table image, but I'm potting the flop because it is so draw heavy. Betting half pot on the turn if a blank falls.
The turn call is good but unless you improve I'm folding river.Last edited by goose58; 07-27-2005 at 12:00 AM. Reason: Didnt read hand right :p

Similar to the other hand that I responded to [Shadypac's tens hand], this is a read dependent, but more than the other.
I. This is a cash game.
I say fold the turn. You're looking to be the aggressor in spots like this, not the caller. I like to minimize my losses with top pair and play each spot individually. With no reads on my table, I'll raise bigger PF, but fold a min. raise on the flop.
II. What would he call on the flop and min. raise on the turn?
I have to say AQ and KQ are valid possibilities, but I'd think QT, QJ, TT, 77, and JJ are good possibilities. I'm not averse to calling the turn completely to the possibility that he checks the river, making your investment smaller, but his raise is a call for action.
Why does he want action? I think you're beat in most cases.

How come nobody has suggested that he has AK?
Is it possible he limped in with AK UTG? This is where you have to know the player.
To me, his actions say he has AK with a slight possibility of JQ although limping UTG with JQ is not a good play and his raise on the turn and bet on the river in the face of a straight is unusual as well. I say AK for him.
Unless I have some good information that this guy is hyper aggressive or bluffs excessively, I'm folding on the turn.
