I've been playing these $1 SNG's on Stars. When I get a good hand, I raise my standard 3BB. But, I've not been getting any callers. Most of these cards are one's you don't want against the whole table (JJ, TT, AQs, etc.), so do you fiddle around with the preflop raise? Do you stick to your raise and just take the blinds?

Tournament strategies
That will help you, a little, with the betting amounts.
Just play your game.. taking the blinds is a good thing, but I find hard to believe that you are consistently taking the blinds in these games. Try adding a few more hands to your raising group and limping less, this should get you more action....Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

That's what I thought, but I raised probably 10 hands are never got called. Maybe I was just at an exceptionally tight table.

Continue to raise with premium hands. You don't want a lot of callers with most of them. Sometimes it's ok to try and play them sneaky but if you do and you think you are beat dump them.
Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.

I think it might be too much, so just min raise it. Im sure you'll get a call. Then you can 3 times the BB on the flop but those hands you get I would'nt mind getting called

lol funny u say that cause i play $5-$20 SnGs and find that even at 4-5BB raises i still usually get up to 3 callers sometimes. Ive been in tourneys where it seems unless u have a made hand already raising to limit the field is basically useless.

I've been playing the same SnG's on Royal and have found that lately (the last several days or so) they are the exact same. A 3-5bb raise will usually get everybody to fold. When I started playing these they were fairly loose, but they've tightened up conciderably.

there have been a few articles on cardplayer.com about adjusting your standard preflop raise ammount according to table conditions.
