    Question Where is the mistake(s)?

This happended in a tourney last night, 350 left of 1000. I have 5000, average 4000. Blinds : 75-150, I'm Button and Dealt KK : UTG (small stack) limps, UTG+1 (SS) limps, the guy in front of me ( bigger stack than me) raises to 450.

What do I do with KK? I decided to reraised to 900 to narrow the field to 1 or 2 opponent.

I could have raised more, but my image was tight and wanted a call to make more money. Maybe I should have and win around 1000.

I could have limped and hope for one of the SS to go all-in followed by the original raiser or not (He raised often so I was pretty sure he didn't have AA, unless very lucky this time).

Anyway, everybody folded to the raiser, he waited and then called.

    Flop : 2-6-7 (2 hearts)

He immediately bets 800. What do I do? I thought he was on a fluch draw with an ace and tried to get the pot there. So, I reraised to 2200 (i now have 2000 left). He reraises me all-in.

    Can I fold there?

    Results later tonight...

I dont like the mini reraise much, he shouldn't be folding much to that.

I would probably raise it up to 1000.

Depends on how loose the table has been in calling all-ins, if they are calling a lot of allin (probably if you already lost 650) I may just push. Enough people involved that you may get a call.

Why he raises, I just push on that flop, the pot is about half you stack, dont fold. he could have 88-JJ or play AK badly more often than he has AA or a set.

I'd probably pop it to 1200, +/-, PF, then on this flop, push in to his bet, or a pot sized bet, which ever is smaller.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

raise more pf and push flop

you cant fold and since you werent folding just push instead of raising to 2200

Good, I did what you said, I reraised to 2200, this way I was pot commited.

He reraised me all-in I called and he showed me pockets 7's - set. What could I do.

The only thing to do is raise more pre-flop so he is making a big mistake in calling.

I don't think you can get away from it post flop at this phase of the tourney, it would be hard enough if you had 100BBs.

    Here's a point a was looking for :

If you do a small raise(like I did), he will call with almost any hand he is holding (450 more for a 2000 pot).

    A) he has a bad hand : He will only call and fold to any raise and I will only take is 450 more (which is not enough to care about)

    B) He has a good hand : He will call and more likely stick to the action.

If you do a bigger raise (1450 so 1000 to go)

    A) He has a bad hand : He folds right there, which is ok because you don't want to be outflopped (like I did).

B)He has a good hand : He will call because of the pot odds ( 1000 for 2500 in the pot). He will call with 10's and up, AQ and AK. The pot will now be 3500. So if you want to take this pot you must do a big bet (at least 1000 but should be around 2000). If he is on a draw, if he wants to make it 1/3 of the time, he will have to go all-in to try to make it because the pot will be big enough for me to go all-in and take the 3500. So if I do a bigger raise, instead of trying to build the pot 1000-1500 more on the flop if you raise less pre flop, you can take the pot right there. I fhe tries to do his straight or flush, I will double up 2/3 times which is perfect.

Am I right? I think I really misplayed this hand pre flop because I don't get KK or AA often enough and you want a call instaed of playing them agressif as you do with other hand when you don't care abour a fold.

Next time : Big Re-raise and they willrespect me if I show kings so next time I won't need as much as a hand if I want to take the pot.
