Default Do tourney statistics mean anything?

I just got done playing a $20 freezeout NL on pokerstars. Finished 23/284 in the money (albeit $40) after getting snapped off on a bluff. I had KQ, raised the pot preflop and went all in on the flop after missed, guy called with 66 unimproved with same stack size. Strange, but that's for another post....

    These are my statistics:

You finished in 23rd place (eliminated at hand #2086174267).

186 hands played and saw flop:
    - 9 times out of 23 while in small blind (39%)
    - 9 times out of 21 while in big blind (42%)
    - 11 times out of 142 in other positions (7%)
    - a total of 29 times out of 186 (15%)

Pots won at showdown - 7 out of 11 (63%)
Pots won without showdown - 22

Can I gleam any info from this? Is there some sort of standard range these numbers should fall in for a big MTT tourney? I'm sure that SNG stats would be much different but one would think that there must be some ranges that successful tourney players average out into after enough statistics are generated in big MTT tourneys. I figure if people have "correct/good" VPIP% on PT maybe somebody has info on this? I play very few tourneys so have nothing to compare.
    Thanks.

i dunno i play more SnGs then MTTs and yea they are probably a bit different but if anything its looser play in the MTTs. Im nomally between 25-30% hands played and usually in most of the hands when im on the blinds. Just out of curiousity any reason why your not in the pot more in the SB or even the BB. I guess your being raised out of the BB and the same for the SB? I usually almost always limp in with average hands in the SB especially hands like connectors or whatever relies on implied odds. If your getting good odds to go into the pot in the SB or BB and u usually are in some of these loose MTTs then i personally like to make the call and see a flop. But im always rdy to lay down the hand to some action.

I was getting raised alot in the blinds after the first two levels, there was no rebuys and it was $20 so there wasn't quite as crazy people doing stuff like you see in the rebuys. I'll call from the blinds but not with trash. I play very positionally. And some of those pots I won without a flop were hands I reraised in the blinds and everone folded, so still doesn't count as a hand I saw a flop with. That's the trouble with these numbers, I tend to not think they are very useful but maybe someone with more tourney experience could help me. People talk about % you should shoot for over time on pokertracker, maybe similer ideas here?

I had a huge reply typed up, then I closed the window. DOH!

basically its thus: It all depends on the cards/people your up against. It apparently seem like you were sitting back and waiting for the big hadns to come your way. Which is fine as long as you dont get cold decked. Personally, in the 3 table SNG's I've been routing of late, I have a VPIP of around 38%, lotsa post flop play, and very aggy when its SH'd.

Tournaments are such short term events (online events won't get more than 250 hands in) that the %'s only mean something after 10 or so events. And that just tells you waht type of style you play, where as your $ results are what count.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
