People who go belly up playing agressive usually do it because they are bluffing at every pot... and then someone calls them. So they bet bigger (oftentimes all-in) on the turn, and get called down again by someone with a monster hand.

Playing aggressive is good... but you have to be careful of being to aggressive and getting trapped by a monster, and you have to get away from hands when you don't think they'll fold and you don't think you have the cards to beat them.

Another strategy that works well in single table tournaments is to play tight early on, showing that you are a straight up player, going in on strong hands, and getting out of weak hands. This will allow you to stay close to even while letting some of the more agressive players fall off the table (or double up as the case may be). Then as the table gets down to the last few players, you switch over to being aggressive, if played right, you can begin to steal some pots and trap more easily.
