Default Should I have???

Ok, this was during the freeroll this evening on Trident hosted by Holis.

I was doing very well (imho) and I'm sure I had a loose passive rep at the table, however I was getting some good cards and winning...

I was running mid stacked at the time, but with the flush draw and straight draw on the flop, I felt it was worth the gamble. I had already made the money (although one more place and the money started going up). I had put him on the pair of aces with a mid kicker, however, I thought the draw possiblities were worth the risk. Was I wrong (obviously since I lost I was,) but if I had to do it again....

its a good play, with all the draws you have, you are actually a slight edge in the hand 55/45

Hi trons i agree with slp your getting the correct pot odds with your draw to call,so its a good call i guess. But i still hate putting my money in on a draw at this stage of the tourney when you can move up spots and grab more.I don't know how much more money you could have made as i don't know the payout structure but that is something i like to take a look at in this situation and weigh that factor agains't putting it all in here.

If you can only make a few bucs more with the blinds getting bigger you may as well take a shot here. But if you can make a good leap in the money waiting for a better spot to get your money in why not wait. The blinds are only 4-800 at this point and you can see at least a few more rounds to pick up a monster and double up.Plus if you fold your getting the button in one more hand giving you the opportunity to see at least a whole round to pick up a high pocket.

All in all a though spot to be in but if your going strictly on pot odds the call is more than correct, but i still hate to go in on a draw.lol I am folding by the way but i play to tight anyway.lol Hopefully next time you will hit your draw if you decide to go for it.GL AT THE TABLES

And trons one other thing it would be a terrible call the worst play in poker if it was only the flush draw or only the str8 draw, don't ever make that call all in when your only at 35% and the pot is laying you even money. But i am sure you already know this. But this is a play that i see constantly being made and its the mortal sin of no-limit poker.Let the fools call with no odds draws and you will win in the long run.Again GL AT THE TABLES.

The more I think about it, I know I should have folded. Not just because I lost but because I had a complete change of attitude after I made the money. IIRC, I made it into the money with the largest stack and started playing differently. I couldn't point any differences, but I know they were there because of my mental state.

I started the tourney fairly nervous about making the money...I played (imho) fairly well and got into the money, then I got cocky. I felt a physiological change in my body that I couldn't justify or explain. I'm sure, had this been a real life game, my whole body language would have changed.

I can see his raise into the big blind after the flop, but the more I think about it, I got away from my tournament mind set and into "Can't touch this" mindset. That is something I'm going to have to work on in the future. I had been caught bluffing a few times, but I had also shown down some nice hands and I tried to bet my bluffs like I bet my good hands to keep people from getting a read on me. This was the first time I called an all in bet on a draw and I'm sure I "probably" won't do it again

I was playing as Mr. Sparkle and based on how all-in was playing, I probably would have called in your situation. 5th to 4th was only $5, but you win that pot and you are pretty much chip leader.

I was noticing that once the final table came about, I felt you were limping into a lot of pots when that table became very passive. You probably could have taken a few of those pots you were calling by raising.

ya unfortunately thats poker. but you had 17 outs out of the 39 remaining cards so good call. i also hate getting my money all-in on draws that have good odds but like they say making these correct "positive odds" calls eventually will pay off in the long run especially against the weaker players that play their TP way too strongly. some intersting points about if you lay this down youve got good position and more money to win if you wait for a stronger hand but technically this is a correct call. nobody really wants to go all-in on a draw but again thats poker and the more you make these calls the more it will eventually pay off. just think about it at least you didnt have implied odds to think about when he went all-in

i dont like your bet on the flop.

i would much rather c/r all in so there is some FE. i dont like calling an all in with just a draw here. if you are the aggressor i like the play a lot though.

it doesnt really show the stacks and everything so i cant help too much

Hello again trons i will give you a little advice . Seeing some of the players on PFO are holding private freerolls at prima it wouldn't be wrong to tell you that several of the prima rooms have large payout freerolls if you look for them.No names given because i don't know if thats allowed on the forum.Search around there is a lot of good things out there to get you started with very little or no money.Tonight being a good example. You got a $10 start at one site, you can get a start at many more and build build build lol.And while PS UB and PARTY are the best sites for all around ring and sng tourneys. The freerolls on UB and PS are absolutely terrible for anyone looking to make any money.Bonus bucks are useless without deposit and at PS you have to come in top ten spots in a satellite with 2500 players just to enter the money freeroll the next week.Truely not a good time investment for so little chance of return.Search and you will find.lol Drifting from topic again but trons is a good man that needs leads.LOL GL TRONS

My bet on the flop was because after he limped PF, I had put him on hands like k10o, qjo, 109s...I honestly thought a bet here would win it outright. When he went all in, I put him on the ace but figured I had more then enough outs to justify the call. At the time, I roughly calculated my chance of hitting either the straight or the flush at something like 68%.

I know that part of my decision to call was based on the fact that I had already made it to the money and I figured this is one of those situations where I had to ask myself "are you here to win?"

I can't say it enough that I would not have made it as far as I had without the help of PFO members and thank you again...
