Depends on the situation of the tournament and the type of player. If you believe he has a set your odds go down extremely(catching a boat) however if you dont believe he has a set and it is the right time in the tournament ( not very beginning or bubble) Id say go for it

just watch out for the people that will go all-in with the nut flush draw....ive seen many do it and ive had it happen many times especially in cheap buy in MTTs and free rolls. In this case it comes down to about 6 outs for you on the open ended...changes things alot. But then again this doesnt happen often and usually you know exactly the kind of player that will do it so the stack sizes and the type of player become more and more of the factor to make the call.

A similar situation from a 5$ entry NL MTT.

Early in the tourney, hand 15 or so...no rebuys.

Would you chase down the flush?

Just interested in peoples opinion...i tend to go after draws, esp. early in the tourney with more than 1 other person in the pot...with mixed results.

Aren't you counting the and twice? 8 straight outs + 7 flush outs (not 9) = 15 outs.

Of course I'd "chase down" the flush. The real question is call or raise. I think I'd push all in to try to get the guy behind to fold.
450 in pot pre-flop
1385 put in after flop
1835 in the pot - you have 585 more to call
You have 9 outs and are 1.9:1 to hit your flush. The pot is giving you 3.1:1.

I don't know if you would WANT the following opponents to fold... you're drawing to the nuts, and having him call would increase the payoff if you DO hit it.
