Should I have raised more PF? I'm assuming I should have led out with a raise on the flop but I've been doing that and getting hammered recently so I decided I'd try to check through and improve my hand. No matter what I do it seems I can't win with AK as shown by the following image:




I posted other stats at 250 hands and was told to increase PFR and lower VP$IP, is this getting better?

you only have 850 hand give or take a few on PT, this is too few to truly analyze. You need somewhere in the ballpark of 10,000+

i understand i'm just making sure nothing is drastically wrong with my stats that needs to be corrected quickly. this post is more about my AK problem than anything else.

Looks like the table is pretty loose, which means that flop is definitely not one for betting with ace high. Fold to one bet on the turn there as well.

With AK, the objective is to eliminate players to get heads up. You want to be the aggressor and try to force hands out of the pot (AQ, 22-77, etc.) If you hit nothing on the flop, you can bet if you think its safe. You need a read on your opponent.

thanks ck, these tables are fairly loose and I usually pick up 2-3 callers when raising 4x BB. do you think i should begin increasing my raises with AK to something that will (hopefully) drive out more players?
