i now realize that any one will call an all in with almost anything.
i had pocket 9 in the small blind. all folds up to me. i double it. bb reraises the minimum. i go over the top all in. he has a/5...and it's not even suited. he catches runner runner clubs for a straight with his 5. such a suck out.

HOLY SHIT! You were 2.3:1 favorite and lost. If i took a beat like that, I'd quit poker.

All-ins work because people call them. It's an emotional bet. You are not saying that you have weighed up the delicate balance between pot odds implied odds, your postion, his likely holding and your hole cards .... you are saying that your prick is bigger than his....
so if he's male.. he'll more as likely call...See me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money

When you raised all-in, you either wanted him to call with an inferior hand or to fold. You got what you wanted, and he happened to suck out on you. What's the problem?

I know what you mean, it can be frustrating. I think it would have been easier to take if he had hit his Ace. the straight is a kick in the spuds.
