Can someone tell me how much of an idiot I was here? Or maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought.
Shorthanded live $6-12 limit hold'em game on the strip. Highest limit table in the room. This was maybe 30 minutes after game started but one guy already busted and one guy off to bathroom, so only 5 players dealt in. I was playing aggressive shorthanded poker and won several pots while shorthanded already so my image might have been as pretty aggressive. The players were very good, tricky players though, best live table I've ever sat at. First time I'd really felt like I was out of my league (usually play 4-8).
Dealt to me UTG:![]()
I raise to $12. One fold, button calls (playing alot of hands but a good player), SB folds, BB calls.
Flop: ($39 pot)![]()

I bet $6, button calls, BB folds.
Turn ($51)I bet $12, button raises to $24.
Wasn't sure what to do here. I usually play $4-8 and the players are much worse on average than these players. Depending on my read, I would usually conclude I was way behind as most 2-4/4-8 people wouldn't bluff here or if they had a ten they would fear the jack and not raise, if I thought the guy was bluffing I would reraise. I did the worst move and called.

I checked and called as I just couldn't lay down the boat since I called the turn and thought well "that's one less jack he could have". He showedfor quads. I think his kicker was a 9 or a Q (not a ten) , can't really remember.
I'll admit I was a bit flustered as I was a little intimidated playing shorthanded at a really good table, and felt like the guy was making a play on me. I wound up leaving tha table one round later as wasn't mentally playing good poker, but I have been mentally perseverating ever since (this was last night).
Any thoughts on this? Am I making too much of this or was this really bad poker? Thanks.
edit: My one read was that I felt there was no way the guy had an overpair jj-aa. He would have reraised preflop for sure.

If you lead the turn you need to fold to the raise.

How good is this player? Can you describe his style?
KT,QT,T9s if he would CC PF with that, could raise the turn too, esp if he were good/tricky.
Maybe mid to low pairs as well.

All these guys were good, to be honest. This was at the MGM and a monday, I've never seen them spread 6-12 on a monday - so these guys were interested enough in a higher limit table to start a list. All were regular players, but only two knew each other so it wasn't like they all played together all the time. I regularly beat the 4-8 table for 20-40 bucks an hour (only lost one session and broke even once at 4-8 at the MGM out of about 18-20 sessions) so when the 6-12 game was opened I was excited to try it out and see how I did. Well, I got my ass kicked, but most of that except this hand was the cards. But I'll lick my wounds and try again.

I shouldn't have led at the turn after I was called on the flop. Arghh. I'm not sure why this hand bugs me so much. I usually don't tilt like this.
Thanks for the points, anyone else?

Low limit compared to the Bellagio, but believe it or not on a monday night the only places on the strip with anything higher than 4-8 would be Bellagio, Wynn, and the Mirage. The MGM has 24 tables and the only nights I've seen anything higher than 4-8 is Fri/Sat. I've played 4-8 with two of the guys before and they were both good players. Dont' get me wrong, it wasn't like 5 Phil Iveys were at the table, but at 4-8 there is usually at least 2 idiots just hemorrhaging money.

I'm not in any rush to go up in limits until I'm better anyway, this was more of an experiment than anything else.
