Can someone tell me how much of an idiot I was here? Or maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought.
Shorthanded live $6-12 limit hold'em game on the strip. Highest limit table in the room. This was maybe 30 minutes after game started but one guy already busted and one guy off to bathroom, so only 5 players dealt in. I was playing aggressive shorthanded poker and won several pots while shorthanded already so my image might have been as pretty aggressive. The players were very good, tricky players though, best live table I've ever sat at. First time I'd really felt like I was out of my league (usually play 4-8).
Dealt to me UTG:

I raise to $12. One fold, button calls (playing alot of hands but a good player), SB folds, BB calls.
Flop: ($39 pot)

I bet $6, button calls, BB folds.
Turn ($51)

I bet $12, button raises to $24.
Wasn't sure what to do here. I usually play $4-8 and the players are much worse on average than these players. Depending on my read, I would usually conclude I was way behind as most 2-4/4-8 people wouldn't bluff here or if they had a ten they would fear the jack and not raise, if I thought the guy was bluffing I would reraise. I did the worst move and called.
River

$99)
I checked and called as I just couldn't lay down the boat since I called the turn and thought well "that's one less jack he could have". He showed

for quads. I think his kicker was a 9 or a Q (not a ten) , can't really remember.
I'll admit I was a bit flustered as I was a little intimidated playing shorthanded at a really good table, and felt like the guy was making a play on me. I wound up leaving tha table one round later as wasn't mentally playing good poker, but I have been mentally perseverating ever since (this was last night).
Any thoughts on this? Am I making too much of this or was this really bad poker? Thanks.
edit: My one read was that I felt there was no way the guy had an overpair jj-aa. He would have reraised preflop for sure.
