PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (3 handed) converter
Button (t11060)
Hero (t1210)
BB (t1230) Villian is semi weak-tight. But can play a bit of decent pokery.
Preflop: Hero is SB with,
.
1 fold, Hero raises to t1285, 1 fold.
Final Pot: t1435
Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins t1435.
This is a play I'm not so sure of. My thought process was that he would fold almost every hand and I'd be guaranteed second place pay with the extra blinds and a bigger stack.

Right move, I'd do it over and over.

I don't know about doing it over and over, but that play was a smart one, Weak-Tight players cannot stand the all in pressure they fold to it pre flop with anything less then rockets or cowboys(I would know I used to play weak tight ick) So if the bigstack gets out of the way steal his BB every time. If he happens to call I'd worry

lol He's a bit weak tight but he's still calling with AT LEAST 66+ AJ+ KQs. I just meant he won't make the call as often as it may be advisable.

if he calls your dominated... you might as well make this play with 67s 10Js etc... atleast then you might have live cards

If a play is a smart one, why wouldn't you do it over and over?
Anyways, kickers lose value, severely, SH (<4 players), so any ace, and you had the worst one, is worth a push,
and with your stack, anY K or Q in an unchallenged pot is wotrh a push.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

somoene hinted at this point above, but i'll come out and say it:
the cards in this spot are completely irrelevant. the fact that you have an A doesn't matter, since you'll only be called [if your read is correct] by AA-1010 and AK-AJ.
ok, so maybe it matters a little if you're up against a low pair, but by and large in this spot you should be doing this with any two cards if you feel confident about your read. any two.

your forgetting that even if the guy ur playing against is a complete moron, theyre eventually gonna catch on that ur raising every time..... but it will work for a time, and ususally long enough to be profitable

It doesn't matter. He has 7BBs left after posting. If I win the pot I'll have 10. I'm in such a better position to take 2nd then he is.
