Seriously guys, thoughts on this? River call was tough, he was new to the table, and he seemed weak. he turned out to be a total fish later in the game, but I figured I was about 10%-20% chance of winnign this hand, and the pot was close enough....

Well, from the play of the hand I would assume he was on a heart flush draw and made it on the river. I would have still called since the size of the pot in relation to his all in is so small. Even if there is a 15% or so chance he is bluffing (not exact but a quick eyeball) you need to call, at least IMO.
It would be tougher if his all in bet was higher - say 1200 or so.
From the other posts I assume he had A2 or something, well that IS just plain stupid for him to call down but I guess that's who you make the money off in the long run.

Do you think he might have had A8 of hearts? But I think the river call is mandatory. Even just to keep yourself from tilting if he shows a crappy hand.

I stand by my PF, Flop, and Turn play 100%, Bu I actually hat emy river call. If Avi8 wasn't yapping in my ear to call, I woulda pitched it, saving a few chips.
He turns up A7s for the flush.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

That's why you don't take advice from players you're better than?

my advice was correct..... he had the proper odds to make that call, dont be so results-oriented.... he only needed to win about 11-12% of the time to make the call the right one
