About LinkBacksI hate how no matter what I say or do, my parents will always view poker as some degenerate game, I know nothing will change their mind. But I know I was meant for poker, I'm a winning player, and I'm making large cash $$$. But if my mother found out that I was a poker player, and yes I'm 18 and living with my parents for now, I would be viewed as a degenerate, and probably thrown out of my house.
It bugs me that I can't just tell them I play poker, It's like being in the closet, why can't people understand that poker is a game of skill.
Not like I'm playing blackjack.
Sigh FML

Amen. I was out at 18 and never looked back. Visiting is nice, and calm, but after a week or two, can't be there anymore. lol.

If you can afford it, move out! I too moved out when I was 18, and it was a wild and crazy experience to say the least. I highly recommend it.

I agree with the others: Move out.
It is impossible (trust me) to convince 'poker-ignorants' that the game is (at least to 80%) a skill-
game.
