Hello,
I am the author of the poker odds game (www.pokeroddsgame.com), a flash game about guessing probabilities in texas hold'em. I wanted it to be an useful and fun way to learn how to compute odds; I would like to know some expert player opinion about it. What do you think about it ?

Hi There.
I played around with it, and would like to give you the following feedback:
* Are you sure the odds calculations are correct? I received some really strange answers.
* Suggest removing the cases in which the odds are either 100% or 0%.
* There's not much learning happening because the player never sees how the correct answer was reached-- should show how solution was arrived at.
* Related to last point, should show solution onscreen for longer before advancing to next question.
It's a great idea, and I hope you continue to develop it!

Hi,
thanks for your feedback ! And glad you liked it
I'm quite sure the calculations are correct - I double checked many results with other probability calculators and the numbers always matched. But a bug may always happen, if there is some strange result, email it to me and I will double check it (my mail is on the website).
Serving an explaination would be a great idea, but it would be very hard to realize. The problems are generated automatically, and creating a human language explaination for each one of them would be hard. What I was thinking was to upload in the website some extra pages that give some discussion on the trickier problems or on some tipical situations.
For now, what you can do is to use the review problem functionality at the end of a level, that allows to recheck the problems where one gave the wrong answer; I hope this also solve the short onscreen solution problem, in this way you can check the problems afterwords without interrupting gameplay while you guess.
BTW, if you tried to advance the levels, did you find unlocking further levels too hard or too easy ?

Facebook app
A quick update: the poker odds game is now also a facebook app ! So no more need to register and to remember a password for scores, you can just play the game on facebook; soon available, options to challenge friends and other facebook-like stuff. You can find it at The Poker Odds Game on Facebook | Facebook
By the way, for bluescreen: I agreed with you on your last point - now the game pauses after each answer !
Cheers !
