Table is pretty tight. Villian is a decent player pretty tight though.

.
3 folds, Hero raises to t150, 3 folds, SB calls t125, 1 fold.
Preflop raise is fine at this table.
Flop: (t350),
,
(2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.
I probably should have fired here. But he wouldn't defend his blind without a better hand I think.
Turn: (t350)(2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t150, SB raises to t500, Hero calls t350.
This smells sort of bluffy to me.. Plus I have the nut flush draw, but on a paired board.
River: (t1350)(2 players)
SB bets t500, Hero calls t500.
Ugh. I can't see a point in raising here. If MHIG there isn't much he can call with. He could conceivably have A9..
Final Pot: t2350

Sub-par hand in a SNG

If he's seen you raise QTo before from MP to 3xBB and he's pretty solid then he could conceivably have anything.
I put him on Ax initially (could well be 9) then on reflection I fancy he has AA, KK or 66 (with KK the favourite). His river bet says boat, though I can't see how you could walk away.

And people complain about building big pots with AK.......
1000 in the pot and you have to call 350 with a flush draw on a paired board, with no idea where you are if you hit it. You are not getting proper pot odds even with the broadway outs, so you are counting on implied odds.
It can be hard to get anymore money out of people on paired boards with 4 to a suit showing unless they have you beaten.
I don't like the play of this hand.

i dont understand why he would check the flop in this situation if he has AA, AK or KK as theres a flush draw so perhaps you do have him beat with a better flush...

A9o is not the only hand that gives the boat a tripped pocket pair makes a lot more sense of the betting.
Villain could also be looking to check raise the flop against a known aggressor.
As Beav said the turn call is debatable.
The big factor for me is that if I was up against someone who I knew was raising QTo in EP and calling bets against the pot odds on the turn then my normal approach to this hand would change.
Context as always is everything. We spend a lot of time discussing our motivations for certain plays yet perhaps sometimes don't give the other guy credit for outmanouevering us and picking up our strategies.
Could of course all be wrong and he's a fish with a low flush, but my point stands

I hate your play on each street. Ok Myabe the PF raise is ok, I might do the same.
Flop, Yeah, gotta fire here. 3/4 pot.
Turn FOLD. Paired board... and he may already have the flush, removing 2 of your outs. Your bet was WEAK though. That bet smells bluffy to me, not his rearaise, he just may have KQ, but I would have popped it the same since you reeked of weakness.
River, fuck it, put it all in. I dont care if hes got A9, because we cant know, If you raised on the flop, then we'd know if he may have an ace or not. IF we let eh boat hit, well it hit, but right now I'm looking to capitalize here. You will probably get hands like
to call here, or
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

I was aiming for more tact than Marm but I agree.
Played right the QTo pf raise is not in itself a problem, it's the subsequent play that digs the hole deeper.

Not a problem for me. I expect you to be entirely honest with me about the numerous gaps, holes and yawning chasms in my game.
Only way to learn.
