    Default Table Selection

I've seen lots of people mention in posts to make good table selection. So my question is basically how do you determine what is a good table to play at?

if theres a fish that you have on your buddy list, you should always join his table

tables that have high % of players to flop and big avg$ pots.

Not always JK, i mean, gotta look at the whole table, If the rest of the table is WSOp bracelt winners, err no thank you. But you get the idea. Its the whole table.

But the Flop entry and pot size is good. Works for both LImit and NL

    Default stacks

In NL you need to look at stacks.

By and large I never join a table with less than 60% @ 80bb I want at least 2 players @ greater than 120bb.

Funnily enough I rarely look at flop entries and average pots any more.. They are usually calculated over 5/10 hands and in NL alot or nothing can happen in 5/10 hands. The only thing that is certain is how much money ppl have.

A table with 6 rocks with VIP<10% combined with two maniacs VIP>70% is VERY playable in the right postion. But average pot and flop entry could both be very small for such a table.

In limit I can't see these arguments holding.. you're just looking for calling stations..
See me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money

If the guy is a super fish, I'll join regardless. I'll just play small pots with the rest of the table and live off the fish. I don't mind being the 3rd or 4th best player at the table.

I agree. JK plays about 8-16 tables at a time, so one tight table with an ATM issn't bad. I do this every now and then.

I look for high % seeing flops and big pots. In shorthanded games, I look for high % seeing flops and small pots.

Good tables for good for you. In PLO, I like a lot of people seeing flops and low-medium size avg. pots.

When I'm only playing 3-4 tables, I like high % people in flops and smaller pots. This indicates small pots worth stealing and good PF odds with my LSC's. Generally, I like big avg. pots. Lurk the tables, too.

how do you play 8-16 tables..I guess you only evaluate your hand on any draws or whatever and not worry about what othesr have?
