No UB tourney conversion, sorry. . .Since I folded, I posted the whole hand.
I was out of position to play this well, and I know I played it weakly, and part of it is just that I didn't want to stake my tourney life on this hand. When the turn hit, I figured any hand that would call a 3BB PF bet had me by then.
How should I have played? I hate 99.

I think you played it pretty well. I would have bet 5BB on fourth street to get some more info but with 99 on that board you couldn`t have called anything substantial

Don't like it. No reason to raise PF, Your in EP/MP, and this early into the event, Your going to get callers regardless, and the higher you bet, the more likely you will be to be a dog. LImp, take the flop, and in this case, check/fold. But good sized bet though.
Flop, ok so we've raised it, got 4 callers, and we get a crappy flop. So you bet 20% of the pot??? You on crack? Might as well have a donation box in the pot that you just put some chips into each hand. Eaither bet hard or go home. You should probably go home in this hand, but we decided to bet. Theres 600 in the pot, if you're going to bet, nothing less than, oh about 400-450 is correct here. Make them pay to see their draws, represent a made hand here.
At best you got a runner runner hand. We can assume a 9 maight actually hurt you unless the board paired/pairs. I thik at best you should have lost 40 TC here, not 240. Limp fold this hand. especiallyon this flop.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.

99 is pretty bad in online tournaments, since so many people love to see flops and you're bound to get outdrawn. I'd have just treated 99 like 22, and waited to hit a set. Forcing yourself to be the aggressor in the hand doesn't really work, because you almost always find an overcard in the flop, and with four callers, which is fairly normal, you doubt you have the best hand.
Stick to big cards when you want to raise preflop in these tournaments.
PS. Long time no see everyone.

Yeah remember to play it for set value. then when you hit your set fold.
Seriously, I would not have raised 3bb, no need to steal at this level. You have a nice stack and don't need to push it.

If the table's a bit tight, I'll raise here, but it's way to early in the tourney and I doubt the table is that tight from how many people saw the flop, which leads to this:
There are 3 too many people seeing this flop with you to follow up by leading on the flop.
You're preflop play failed to narrow the field. Suck it up and give it up. Don't put anymore money in this pot. You have a nice pot. You need a set to win this pot and a set gives someone a straight.
PS: Good to see you back again, Evans.

Clinch, my man, good seeing you again.

Not much to add to anyone else's reply. Oh well.
