If you've ever wondered the game theoretical reason why antes and blinds exist in our game, this video answers that question:

In short, without antes, poker's equilibrium consists of players only playing the single best hand possible or no hands at all. That would lead to a very boring game. You might have heard people say that blinds and antes "force the action"; truth be told, there would be absolutely no action at all without them.

In cash games I'm sure there'd still be a few players still playing pretty loose due to tilt, drunkenness or whatever, but I'd say tournament poker would die pretty quick with the antes and blinds removed.

I don't have to watch video its obvious so that the game doesn't last a million years and the house profits more.
