Lightbulb A VERY Interesting Hold'em Game

    Hi,

My friend is better than me at poker and is addicted like crazy.
He always wants to play with me heads up texas hold'em but I never agree because I don't like "Heads-Up"
He has lately been offering me all different kinds of props like playing him with twice as many starting chips

and the winner gets 1000$... I've agreed to this challenge and lost...
Obviously he is a better player than me.
Anyways, he offered me another prop and before i say yes i just want to make sure I am a favorite to win

    here:
He offered to deal the cards for 9 players all around my table and we will play the game as if we had 9

players playing with blinds but no antes. Except for the fact that i will get to look at all the cards and act as all

the other 8 players while being able to see all there cards at all times!!
Of course i have to buy in for each of the 8 players but still my advantage should be huge! it's like playing at a

table with all the players against one opponent! of course he will only play his good hands...
I'm pretty sure I'm going to say yes and say he buys in for 200$ and ill buy in for all the rest of the "players" for

    200$ each...
Problem is he said he will do this deal only if he is short stacked so i don't min re-raise him every hand so he

has to go all in before the flop...
so imagine we are playing at a 10/20$ table and we each have 200$ and i get to see all the other players

cards... do i still have more of a chance to beat him?
Could you please give me tips on how i can use my advantage against him? thanks

I don't think you have the advantage because you're so deeply invested, and you say he's a much better player than you.

I aggree with Luffy932 , If the guy is that good he should still win , of course heads-up
is different from 4 or 5 or 9 handed play , but still he should just play his normal game and win .. sounds good to me ...lol
The only way will be able to beat him is to play tighter imo , with all 8 hands , only play
premium hands if possible and then u may win too ... just my 5c :-)

Just go all in every single hand on his blind with all 8 players. His AA can't really beat 8 random hands even if he does call.

yes, you're favourite to win this match
but you're getting paid 1-8, so being favourite is not enough

I can think on 2 strategy:
    1) when the flop comes, you know 8*2 + 3 = 19 cards of the deck
so you can have a good idea about his hand
if you have seen 2 JavaScript and the flop has a J, he probably didn't hit it

    2) double-up your army
when he's out of the hand, go all-in in some spot and call on another
you can have 4 players with double stack against him... that's pretty intimidating

even if he doubles up, you can double up one other player

if still he beats you, you probably suck and should play roulette to get better odds

    --/--

but I don't think playing with all players is a good option, you don't want him to triple+ up
choose the best hand to play, and maybe another with a non-dominated suited-connector

your putting up to much money to take down $200. just buy lottos. if hes really your friend hes wouldnt want to take that kind of money from you like that. you should find a new friend or a new place to play.

Also, he wants to play his hands short stacked so all he will do is 3bet shove over your open raises w/ his strong starting hands and make you fold or call off. If he was serious about getting better or helping you get better you would play for like 10 or 20 bucks not a grand.

Looks to me like he thinks you are an easy mark and is trying to fleece you. Find a new friend to learn the game with, this one is an ass
