I was reading some quick tips from the pro's, and one of them suggested
playing different forms and formats of poker ( limit , omaha , razz, etc..) in order to
1.keep poker fun and fresh (inspire oneself)
2.gain experience in certain positions and parts of the game
viz. in limit poker experience will be gained on flop and after play, inevitably so.
I hear that advise , but for now I find in NL , that just the change of tempo is quite enough variation for me , be it
1.In the game (poker academy) poker circut with its 9 hands per level
2.also in the game, main event with its 60 hands per level
3.in the same game again lol, the 6-max tables and 9-max tables
4. different games (govenor of poker) which has different formats and feel
including heads up table at the end of each town ....
so yeah just somethings to consider, I might start playing some limit
just for fun (wot reason could be better than that lol) ha ha.

What's the question?
I find that PL Omaha Hi headsup is a good way to have some fun when I'm getting bored with NLHE. But I still by far play NLHE the most.
Basically if you are playing poker for fun then sure, try as many games as you want. But if ur main objective is to make money, than specialize in one game. For example during my grinding sessions I play 4-6 NLHE ring game tables, but if I start feeling burned out I may go only to one PLO 2$ table...not to make money, but for fun

ha ha , yeah ... well maybe the question was what does everyone else
feel about the pro's advice (article) ...?
I gave my ideas on the matter , and now u gave yours ... lol
I wondered what others felt about it ...?
and I guess possibly whether certain types of poker give a better skill set ? i.e flop experience in limit poker ...
Just a side note I think the question was inferred ... lol

I'm busy playing some limit (on the pc) poker , and although I'm doing well so far and only lost like 2 hands , won about 8 ( 2nd out of 3000ppl level 8 , average stack 2,500, I have 11,500) , I've realised that its much harder
to get any information thru betting , since its limited ! doh ! how then is one supposed to
get meaningfull info in my situation (pc game ) ..?
any ideas?Last edited by ninjax; 01-08-2010 at 04:43 AM.

just resumed my limit game (vs pc) and finished 9th out of 3000 , on level 21 , was at the
final table for only 2 hands , I think I played too many bad hands , lol , I was just
raising and re-raising with nothing really ... not at all the tighter poker I play in NL ,
still it didn't seem to take too much effort to get to the final table, and I was beaten a few
times on the river .. these guys just don't fold easy in limit ... and another thing , even with
a drawing hand I still had to "build" the pot without knowing whether or not I had the best hand , was simply betting so that if I did feel I had the best of it , say by the turn
then at least the would be money in the pot ( earlier pot-building) ... but if I didn't hit
then I had simply "built the pot" for someone else ...doh !

going back to some "main event" action vs the pc ( 60hands per level , 10k starting stack)
