I joined PokerForums because I am genuinely puzzled by the attitude I am getting at the poker tables.
This is really bugging me about this and I would like some old pros to please explain.
I am often getting horrible remarks from people at the table about being a "donk". I should note I only get these disparraging remarks after I knock a player out. Which I would chalk up to bitterness except it seems to be a prevailing attitude among poker players.
What has me confused is do they really expect everyone to play by some exact formula that all players agree on before hand, because frankly if that is how I have to play poker I find myself very uninterested in the game. Variety is suppose to be a good thing and it seems the poker community frowns rather harshly on anyone playing with any bit of individuality.
As I side note if a player goes allin with, for example, 72 off isn't this a good thing for the other players it seems to me that player would be welcome in any game where the stakes are real tangible assets.
I for one, even as inexperienced as I am, welcome players with "no game". It seems it would just make playing more colorful, entertaining and even more profitable for the "formula folk" who seem to know exactly how your suppose to win, exactly what cards you can play, how much you can bet on them and in what position you have to be in to do it.
I am very interested in hearing any explanation of this attitude. I am genuinely interested in learning. So you pros who always say donk this and chaser that and believe in your hearts these people are horrible ugly creatures please clue me in to what I am missing.
I hope I have made myself clear and have done so in a way so as not to offend. I really want to know; what is the deal?

They're idiots. 95% of people at any given poker table are.

Isn't that a good thing for the good player?

The real issue is that this is happening in tournements not cash game. In a cash game when the "donk" plays a bad hand and sucks out & wins w/ 54os vs your AA you can reload and continue to play with the expectation that the good player will most likely (as long as he doesn't go on tilt) stack a donk.
In Mtt when a bad player makes a bad play and wins the 15% of the time the hand should win the good player is knocked out not only loosing his buyin but also the potential massive increase in profit from taking first. Which the good player had a better shot at taking first than the lucky "donk".
This is what frustrates the good tourney players. That is why the pros like a small ball approach in MTT to reduce this type of variance. It puts more reliance on skill not the luck factor.
Just like Triple-t says " One cannot beat a donkey on a heater."
