Ok...
So I've played for about 3 years. I know the value of good starting hands. I also know I have to mix it up sometimes and raise with some other types of hands - connectors, low pairs, etc to make my raises less readable.
What I can't figure out lately is how to play the poeple that isolate me and re-raise every single preflop raise. They take away control of the pot, lead out on the flop - and in more than half the pots I haven't hit well enough to continue without significant risk.
All the books say trap... well how? By folding for 2 hours while I get blinded out? I switch to playing just premium cards and they know if I've missed - and when I have a big pocket, they force me to play a huge pot....
What's the counter strategy? Everytime I reshove they of course happen to have something big..
Help!

How to deal with the constant re-raiser?

Ok here's a few things that should help.
If they are constatly isolating you and 3 betting you, I'm guessing that they have position on you?
These players are easier to deal with if they are sat on your right so move seat or move table. If you're in a situation where that is not possible, like in a tournament then I suggest tightening your range and adding some 4 bets into your play.
If you're playing cash games, you want calling stations and maniacs on your right and nits on your left as this will enable you to play a wider range of hands without being put in as many tricky spots post flop.

you wait for a hand like 32, shove instantly over the top into any hand and show after they fold. Works every time

3betting has become more common even at the micros. You will need to adjust your 4 bet range and your 3bet calling range when in postion. Never call a 3 bet OOP unless you have a monster and are trapping. In which case check call flop and either shove turn or check shove turn (100 bb stacks).
Also, calling a 3bet planning to set mine is burning money even if you are both deep, have a different plan on how to win post flop if you don't flop a set
You really need to understand the concept of stack to pot ratio is. This really makes the hand simple to play post flop

just use your gut. Ive won over 3 grand calling players with as little as queen high if the gut told me to. When players are trying to bluff with shit cards you can usually feel a bit of tension in your stomach which I think is the other person hoping to hell that you don't call
try it, even on free poker see if it works. Its something that took me over a year on .10 games until I mastered it. Now I'm at $30,$50 heads up games and soon to climb.
see you on the tables
