is it ever correct to play out of position in certain situations. i mean for instance those sessions where an hour goes by and the best hand youve seen is 6 high. when your having those sessions which are just like they say in the books where approximately every orbit of the button you get a playable hand (yeah right), then folding a hand like J 10 or K J Utg is easy. but sometimes you feel if you dont make a play your gonna blind out. i feel like this could be a leak in my game but can you really afford to fold a hand like that even when you have very aggressive opponents behind you, if like i say all you have seen is rags?

If it's a tournament we're talking about then you need to make some things happen.
If this is a cash game just sit tight. The blinds aren't going anywhere. Wait for good spots, premium hands and situations, and good position.
Either that or go home..

yeah cash is never a problem other than it getting boring, but i was reffering more to S&G or MTT tourneys. I suppose the if i didnt take a risk like that now and then well the bigger risk is blinding out. I just hate those times where ive decided to play these kind of hands and you know that feeling where you completely miss the flop and your opponent has you out chipped a million to one. What do you do bluff lol? ive tried that and they just call anyway. I dont think theres any real answer to this question, all just down to luck sometimes.

Playing out of position
I believe that yes you can play some hands out of position in maybe a passive cash game. Since you are out of position, you maybe would want to raise a little in a passive game, and hopefully win a few small pots right then. If you do go to the flop, you are just gonna have to play poker and try to figure where you are at in the hand. Put out a little feeler or probe bet. You will have to read and try and outplay them. In a loose cash game, just fold the crappy hands and wait on big cards AA, KK, QQ-maybe, I will even fold AKs in a loose game, because I don't wanna go broke pre-flop. Who knows what they have, generally who ever flops or has a pair wins. One thing to remember is you usually want to try and play against aggressive players in position, with a good hand. With weak players that don't raise a lot you can play weaker hands out of position. Since you will miss most flops, you can't value the value of your cards. You will have to bet and see whats up. Hope this helps some

It is unwise to limit your options when playing poker. Even playing out of position against a fish can net a huge profit if done correctly. It is much more complex to play profitably out of position though and it is more for advanced players.
