This may be stupid question but I am not that experienced at omaha hi/lo.
So I don't remember the hand exactly and I am too lazy to go through hand history but it basically went like this. I had 88xx and board comes 8 As 4s. I bet potsize, 2 callers turn comes A. Someone bets potsize, other guy calls and i fold. Is this the right move? I figure everyone plays Aces in omaha hi/lo and someone will probably make the Aces full.
However it turned out that no1 had aces full. Someone played for low and the other rivered a flush.
Would you have folded in my position? Did I play it too tight?

Depends on the limits I think. Folding in that spot in omaha high would have been a no brainer. In 8/b I'm not so sure. In lower level games such at .1/.25PLO8B people LOVE betting the nut low hard. If you have seen this guy do this often you can sometimes play this hand.

IMO that was the right play. Omaha is a game of nut, not "good hand".

The problem with 88xx is that even if you do hit an 8 on the flop you still have a LOT of work to do. On the flop you got there was already a qualifying low possibility so your potsized bet on the flop was only to win 1/2 of the pot. Even worse is that there were 2 spades on the flop and there easily could have been a flush drawn without your full house coming.
On that flop with 88xx I would recommend not betting at all. you've got a drawing hand and should be praying for another 4 to hit, but your middle trips on the flop is really not worth that much, especially since you're competing for only the high.
If you get a free card on the turn (or cheap enough to see it) it becomes a situation of trying to read hands. If the primary bettor on the flop was the primary better on the turn you might be able to put him on the low and hope your 888AA holds up, but most likely I would fold it to any betting on the turn. A non-not full house is not worth fighting for 1/2 the pot.

Don't know what your x's were or your position, but odds are I wouldn't play the hand in the first place, especially in a hi/lo game. If you get a high board, your 8's (assuming you hit) might be chasing a bigger set. If you get a board with low cards, you're going to be defending a weak holding (midrange three of a kind in holdem is a strong hand, midrange three of a kind in Omaha is dangerous) and most likely going after half a pot.
In this situation and the way the second ace caused a player to spring to life, I'm certainly not going to argue with a fold. Even if he doesn't have a boat now, he's got a reasonable chance of getting one on the river and regardless of whether he hits or not, chances are you'll be facing an even larger pot-sized bet into you.
I think it was a good laydown to extract yourself from a dicey situation that frequently would not have gone your way at showdown.

You should try limit omaha before diving into PL. They are very different games, but it will give you a good understanding what what good draws are.
If you look at your hand, you have second nut to half the pot that you will lose 32% or so of the time to a flush, and maybe another 8-9% to a wheel. Not good equity.

88xx on a flop of A48 is a check and fold situation.
You are playing for 1/2 the pot at best and one of the board cards is an overcard to your set which is bad.
don't put any money in the pot with this hand post flop, if they give you a free card so be it otherwise fold to any bet.Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog
