Hello, this is my first post im not sure its in the right section apologies if its not.
Anyways, ive been playing poker online for about a year at the moment i have a BR of $150 (it started as $16 about a month ago). Im using this to play three dollar sit and gos and trying to build a more substantial roll. However i have a slight problem, although i regularly cash im pretty certain i could cash more than i do.
During the first few blind levels i play really tight, if i can build on my stack with good hands then great, if not doesnt really matter. When the blinds get to 50/100 then i begin stealing from late or im in shove fold mode, but a frustrating amount of times im out on the bubble. So does any body know of a really good book worth investing in for sit and go strategy, or even just some good tips from your own good selves.
Thanks
Pete

The problem is that bankroll advice is totally confusing. The ranges quoted range from 20 to 50 buy ins for a recreational player, or 3 to 2 % of total BR. Bearing those figures in mind i assumed i was safe. The other problem is that anything below three dollar buy ins just isnt worth sitting there for an hour, the last point is that with a bankroll this size it can easily be replaced, if i was to start playing at higher stakes then id certainly be really considering my bankroll. Just out of interest what sort of BR would you suggest for $3 sit and gos and for $5 sit and gos? If im way under then i might consider adding a little more out of my own pocket just to keep things safe.

If you're playing 1 table SNG's then I think you could safely be playing $5 or $6 games with your bankroll. Buying in for 2% of your BR is a better option for larger MTT's because you experience greater variance than in smaller games due to the larger field sizes.
