I play the exact same way. You don't have to win the pot every time you have a pocket pair. If the board is terrible then throw out a cbet then c/f.

This is where some semblance of stats comes in handy. You should start observing to see if he is calling cbets a lot and what with. Maybe dont cbet this guy as often if he is a light calling station, or conversely start double barreling him.
