Default Need some advice for tournament play

I am fairly new to live tournament play and have managed to place in the money once.
I am a very tight playing and always wait for a hand although when i get a hand i will raise pre flop and see how it all pans out. Normally at the start of tournaments i can double up once or twice to give myself a healthy chip stack nice and early on but when the blinds start to increase and am down to about 8 big blinds i try and raise pre flop and either miss or am re raised. Just wondered if people could give me some advice for when blinds are big compared to chip stack as these times are my biggest weakness.

    Thank you

Under 18 bb's, you shouldn't be raise/folding preflop. Under 10 bb's, you should be shoving preflop.

Limping usually is a bad idea, unless you're playing a small pair for set value after others have limped or something. And under 10 bb's, your only move should be shove or fold.

<18...no...don't limp. Just if you raise and someone 3 bets you, you're getting it in, not folding....this should determine your range.

No. If you have under 20 bb's, you should only play hands that you are planning to go allin with. So either raise intending to get it in , or just open fold.
